Technical Requirements

This page details information on minimum requirements for online learning through MyAccount, and suggestions you may find useful for a better e-learning experience.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Monitor resolution of 800 x 600, with 16 Bit colour
  • A sound card if you wish to use the audio feature of certain products
  • A headset with microphone if you wish to use the virtual recorder found in many language training courses
  • 56K Modem connection speed, although high speed is recommended for some products

Technical Checklist

  • One of these operating systems:
    • Windows 2000
    • Windows XP
    • Windows Vista
    • Windows 7
  • One of these Web browsers:
    • Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0 or 8.0
    • Firefox 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5
  • One of these Web browser plug-ins:
    • Flash 10 - download Flash 10
    • Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0
    • Shockwave 10 - download Shockwave 10
    • Quicktime 7
    • Windows Media Player 9, 10 and 11
  • A word processing package such as Microsoft Word or WordPerfect to enable you to use product templates
  • Microsoft Excel or Lotus 1-2-3 for product templates
  • Cookies in your Web browser must be turned on
  • Pop-up Blocker programs should be disabled

Web Accessibility Support

For those using software for visual impairment, an up to date screen reader software (such as Jaws 9.0) is required.

Pop-up Blockers

To disable the Pop-up Blocker feature in Internet Explorer, follow these steps.

From the browser menu, select:

  • Tools « Pop-up Blocker » Pop-up Blocker Settings.
  • In the dialogue box that appears, there is a text entry box entitled Address of the Web site to allow. Enter the https://papp.csps-efpc.gc.ca/Saba/Web/Main Web site address in that box.
  • Click the "Add" button.
  • Click the "Close" button.
