Workplace Accommodation Consultation Series: Acquisition of Information Technology (IT)-Related Adaptive Products and Services

Do you know where to turn if you or your employee requires adaptive technology? The 2019 Benchmarking Study of Workplace Accommodations showed that more than half of accommodation requests involved at least one piece of adaptive technology and that managers lacked information on how to effectively acquire and implement such IT-related accommodations.

The Accessibility, Accommodation and Adaptive Computer Technology (AAACT) program at Shared Services Canada offers an internationally-recognized service that provides a wide range of expertise to federal public servants.

In conjunction with this event, AAACT will be releasing a new handbook called A General Process and Guide to IT-Related Adaptive Products and Services. This great resource should be in every manager’s toolkit! Topics covered during the event and in the new handbook include:

  • an in-depth look at the resources available
  • practical information about the steps to take if you or your employee requires an IT-related accommodation
  • the types of adaptive computer technologies and how to acquire them

There will also be a Q&A session with functional experts from the AAACT program regarding the acquisition of IT-related adaptive products and services.
