Answers

1. What is MyAccount?

MyAccount is your key to all of the School's learning products and services. Use it to log in to GCcampus, the School's learning application, or to register for other courses and events listed on the School's website.

2. What is GCcampus?

GCcampus is a learning application, a platform established by the School to offer a variety of rich, interactive and open learning tools in support of the Government of Canada's enterprise‑wide approach to learning.

3. What is available through GCcampus?

GCcampus provides all public servants with access to programs and curricula for public servants at all levels, as well as third‑party online courses and a growing collection of online resources, videos, seminars and events.

Please note that some programs are reserved for participants who have been identified by their organizations.

4. How do I access GCcampus?

You will need your MyAccount login credentials to access GCcampus. You can access the login page for GCcampus from any of the pages describing its featured curricula (e.g. Foundational Development, Transformation in the Public Service, Executive Development)—or just look for the "GCcampus" button on the School's home page. On the login page, enter your MyAccount username and password. You must accept the terms and conditions to continue.

5. I am a new learner. How can I obtain MyAccount login credentials?

2. Check the list of eligible organizations to ensure you have access to MyAccount.

3. There are three ways to set up a MyAccount profile through the Client Contact Centre:

Once you have submitted your request, your login credentials should be created within three business days.

6. I forgot my username and password. What do I do?

Follow the links provided below the login fields to retrieve your username and password.

7. What are the minimum system requirements for online products offered through GCcampus?

To confirm that your system meets these requirements, you have the option of performing a compatibility check when you first log in to GCcampus.

Minimum system requirements

Hardware

  • Central processing unit (CPU): 1.0 GHz or higher
  • Memory: 512 MB minimum

Software

  • Operating systems: Windows Vista 32-bit/64-bit; Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit
  • Web browsers: Internet Explorer 10 and 11 (32-bit/64-bit); Firefox, Safari (7), Chrome
  • Web browser plug-ins: JRE 7.0 Java 1.7.0 and all updates; JRE 8.0 Java 1.8.0 and all updates; Adobe Flash Player 14+
  • Browser settings: Enable cookies, enable JavaScript, enable ActiveX, disable pop-up blocker programs

Pop-up blockers

To disable the Pop-up Blocker feature in Internet Explorer, follow these steps.

  1. From the browser menu, select Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Turn Off Pop-up Blocker and then select Pop-Up Blocker Settings from the same menu.
  2. In the pop-up window that appears, there is a text box entitled "Address of website to allow." Enter the following addresses, one by one, in the box:
    • *.csps-efpc.gc.ca
    • *skillwsa.com
    • *.skillport.com
    • *.books24x7.com

After each entry, click the "Add" button. When all entries have been added, click on the "Close" button.

Please note that other common Pop-up Blockers can be found in the Yahoo and Google Toolbars, as well as the Ad‑Aware program. If you require assistance to disable these utilities, please contact your IT service desk.

8. What are the minimum system requirements for online language training products outside GCcampus?

Minimum system requirements

Hardware

  • Display: Monitor resolution of 1024 x 768, with 16-bit colour
  • Central processing unit (CPU): 1.0 GHz or higher
  • Multimedia: Sound card (if you wish to use the audio feature of certain products)
  • Memory: 512 MB minimum
  • Available disk space: 250 MB minimum
  • Connectivity: A 56 kbps modem connection speed. (High speed is recommended for some products)
  • Equipment: Hands-free telephone/headset/microphone (Certain language training course use the virtual recorder)

Software

  • Operating systems: Windows XP or higher
  • Web browsers: Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher, Firefox 2.0 or higher, SafariSafari*, Google ChromeChrome*
  • Web browser plug-ins: Flash 10 (Flash 8 only for older courses), Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0, Shockwave 10, Quicktime 7, Windows Media Player 9 or higher, JavaScript (Sun Java) or higher
  • Other product templates: Microsoft Word or WordPerfect, Microsoft Excel, Lotus 1.2.3
  • Browser settings: Enable cookies, enable ActiveX, disable pop-up blocker programs

9. Can I access GCcampus from home or from a mobile device?

Yes, provided your home system or mobile device meets the minimum system requirements.

10. I am having trouble accessing GCcampus. Whom should I contact for help?

11. I have special needs. How should I proceed?
