Financial Management Systems (F113)

Description

The role of financial officers continues to evolve in step with a heightened focus on internal control, accountability, risk management and the need for demonstrating the achievement of results. This course explores the purpose and function of departmental financial management systems and their links with materiel management, program and other central systems. Participants will learn to understand the roles and responsibilities related to the practices and controls needed to ensure the reliable and accurate flow of financial information from input to decision making. Topics include:

  • the purpose and use of financial management and central systems
  • the Policy on the Stewardship of Financial Management Systems
  • effective controls and the assurance of reliability

This activity has been designed for functional specialists in finance in the Public Service of Canada.
