Public Service Renewal

What is Public Service Renewal?

Public Service Renewal is the ongoing process of pursuing and achieving excellence in all that the public service does, now and in the future. It is about having a workforce that can adapt to complex and changing environments and that continues to excel in delivering policies, programs and services to the people of Canada.

The Clerk of the Privy Council has made renewal a priority for the Public Service of Canada. An effective public service requires an investment in its employees.

One of the four priorities for action on Public Service Renewal is "Development: Investing in people." Investing in your learning and development and fostering your leadership, at any level, enables you to effectively deliver programs and services to Canadians.

What is the School's Role?

The School has two main roles in Public Service Renewal:

  • To support your department or agency with organizational learning strategies;
  • To support you by making tools available for preparing your personal learning plan and by offering learning products to help you accomplish your learning goals.

The School is your partner in learning and your partner in Public Service Renewal.
