Living with Depression: My Journey
Over more than thirty years as a federal public servant, Monika Deeg D'Amato has been admired for her unflagging support and mentorship, her great sense of humour and her sunny disposition. But beneath her cheerful exterior, Monika was on a very difficult journey, living with depression for years—unbeknownst to her friends, her colleagues and, for a time, even herself.
During this engaging discussion, Monika will share her story and provide helpful information on the resources available to public servants. She will also explain how she found solutions that worked for her and the importance of support from family, the workplace and the medical community in returning to full mental health.
