Effective Engagement with Indigenous People
Organized by Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada in partnership with the Canada School of Public Service and the Ontario Region Communications Council, this special event is designed to help Government of Canada communicators and public servants who directly engage with Indigenous peoples work more effectively with them. Participants will gain insights and perspectives critical to building engagement based on trust, respect and integrity—the first step towards genuine long-term relationships.
A diverse panel of Indigenous communicators, youth and public servants will share insight on moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation. They will touch on topics such as traditional teachings, Indigenous youth outreach and engagement, the significance of Canada 150 for truth and reconciliation, and collaborating with First Nations on communications products.
