As part of the rapid and decisive response to the challenges posed by the COVID‑19 pandemic, Canada's public service developed new programs, rolled out financial supports, and acquired and distributed critical supplies in a matter of weeks. Despite the challenges and pivots along the way, the experience has taught us that to meet the needs of Canadians, it is sometimes necessary to embrace risk and uncertainty.
The pandemic is far from over, and the possibility of future waves of COVID‑19 looms before us. It is important to take stock of the lessons learned thus far. As public servants, how must we continue to adapt during uncertain times and embrace risk over the longer term?
