New skills for a new role, resources and community building

Manager Development Program

Take the Manager Development Program to strengthen your understanding of government priorities, the accountabilities that come with a management position and the importance of both leadership and innovation.

The Program gives you knowledge and skills that you can apply anywhere in the public service and connects you to a community you can rely on for your whole career. Wherever your management career takes you, count on the Program to equip you for success.

  • Phase 1 (online) – self-paced learning and discussion forums with subject matter experts cover the basics of management in the public service.
  • Phase 2 (in the classroom) – a five-day classroom session allows you to discuss the first phase with your colleagues and put your knowledge into practice.
  • Phase 3 (distance learning) – over four weeks, take your learning to the workplace, supported by online readings and discussions.
  • Phase 4 (in the classroom) – a concluding three-day classroom session brings you together with your colleagues once more to integrate what you've learned and apply it to real-life case studies and simulations.

Supervisor Development Program

The Supervisor Development Program prepares you to manage team performance, get results, promote best practices and face new challenges as they arise.

A self-paced online course that introduces your new role and key responsibilities, including leadership and managing a team.

…then build on what you've learned
