Canada's Francophonie

The Canada School of Public Service, in partnership with the Official Languages Champions Network of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), is proud to welcome Dany Laferrière, noted writer and member of the prestigious Académie française.

Mr. Laferrière will share reflections on Canada's new multicultural identity from a Francophone perspective.

Originally from Haiti, Dany Laferrière moved to Canada in 1976 and was elected into the Académie française in December 2013, becoming the first Haitian-Canadian to join this world-renowned institution.
