Two Spirit: Cultural Reclamation and Positive Space

Two Spirit: Cultural Reclamation and Positive Space

Two Spirit is an English term used to stand in for the many Indigenous words for those with sexually and gender diverse identities. It affirms the ways all aspects of identity intersect and interact—including gender, sexuality, community, culture and spirituality.

This session will discuss the Two Spirit identity and explore ways to build respectful relationships with Two Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQ2 people as part of a work environment that fosters a Positive Space.

Positive Space is an international movement that strives to increase safety and inclusion for people of all genders and sexual orientations. Positive Space champions are trained to offer support and promote diversity and inclusion as essential elements of a modern, high-performing workplace.
