The Government of Canada's first-ever AI Strategy for the Federal Public Service 2025-2027 encourages training and talent development as a way to ensure that AI systems within the federal public service are secure, ethical and responsibly used.

The Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence offers opportunities for public servants to deepen their understanding of AI—whether they are new to the field or already working with AI technologies—by dedicating time to explore insightful learning products on the responsible use of AI and by engaging with AI specialists during live events and discussions.
The 31st Annual Report to the Prime Minister on the Public Service of Canada also emphasizes the importance of optimizing the responsible use of AI across the federal public service. This same message was later reinforced during the What Unites Us, Defines Us: Values and Ethics in Today's Federal Public Service event, where public servants highlighted the need to thoughtfully integrate emerging technologies into their efforts to improve service delivery and uphold public trust.

This special Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence is for all public servants at all levels to participate with flexibility based on their operational realities and learning needs, and also allows multiple activities to take place throughout the same week.
All public servants across the country are invited to participate.
Set aside 60-90 minutes in your calendar to focus on AI learning—treat it like any key meeting.
Sign up for formal learning activities, many of which are exclusive to this week.
Start simple by downloading a job aid or watching a video to build momentum.
Leverage microlearning to read, watch videos and explore other AI resources between tasks and meetings.
Learn the basics of the GC's vision to serve Canadians through the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence.
Discuss AI topics with your team and integrate what you have learned into your daily decision-making.
Aim to complete at least one learning activity—on your own or with your team—to help build the skills you need for working a digital world.
