Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence

The Government of Canada's first-ever AI Strategy for the Federal Public Service 2025-2027 encourages training and talent development as a way to ensure that AI systems within the federal public service are secure, ethical and responsibly used.

June 9 to 13, 2025

The Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence offers opportunities for public servants to deepen their understanding of AI—whether they are new to the field or already working with AI technologies—by dedicating time to explore insightful learning products on the responsible use of AI and by engaging with AI specialists during live events and discussions.

Why a learning week?

The 31st Annual Report to the Prime Minister on the Public Service of Canada also emphasizes the importance of optimizing the responsible use of AI across the federal public service. This same message was later reinforced during the What Unites Us, Defines Us: Values and Ethics in Today's Federal Public Service event, where public servants highlighted the need to thoughtfully integrate emerging technologies into their efforts to improve service delivery and uphold public trust.

This special week serves to:

  • benchmark existing AI knowledge and skills
  • bring awareness to how AI is shaping and will shape the work of federal public servants
  • promote a culture where public servants are encouraged and supported to continually enhance their skills
  • offer insights into how AI will impact all areas of public service operations, from policy development to program design and delivery, to service delivery to Canadians, to back-office internal services
Who is this week for?

This special Learning Week on Artificial Intelligence is for all public servants at all levels to participate with flexibility based on their operational realities and learning needs, and also allows multiple activities to take place throughout the same week.

All public servants across the country are invited to participate.
