Faculty member: Anna Romano

Anna has over 25 years of experience in providing strategic policy advice, briefings and recommendations to decision-makers in the federal public service. She has worked in Deputy Minister's offices, central agencies, economic and social policy portfolios spanning ten federal organizations. Anna has led a number of crosscutting initiatives and delivered on key federal priorities, including national strategies and the introduction of new legislation. Most recently, Anna held two ADM-level positions at the Public Health Agency of Canada, setting up new programs and governance structures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Anna strives to work collaboratively and develop environments of trust – within the public service, with external stakeholders and political staff. Her areas of interest include: improving public institutions, strategic communications, brain science, mentoring, well-being and trauma-informed practices.

Anna believes in the value of knowledge transfer and continuous learning. She has found that teaching others is the best way to keep learning. Anna enjoys incorporating lived experience and real-world examples into her teaching methods.
